Minuteman Music Center is now accepting applications for the “Summer Rock Band Workshop” program. This is an intensive week-long experience aimed at beginner to intermediate students, ages 8 to 21.
Each student will spend an entire week in a program focusing on the fundamentals of musicianship in a band setting. Some of the topics that will be covered are Live Performance, Songwriting, Rehearsing with a Group, Rhythmic Principles and Improvising. The program offers each student a chance to receive group instruction on their primary instrument, ensemble rehearsal with their assigned band and group classes on a variety of related topics.
The program will run weekly throughout the summer from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be a daily lunch break and the students are expected to bring their lunches and drinks will be provided.
Each student will be screened to determine ability level and then assigned to a band. When needed, additional instrumentation will be added by the instructors.
The cost is $500 for a one-week program. Material fees may also apply.
A $100 per program week, non-refundable deposit is due with this application.
